INTERVIEWING – MARTIN GROHS
EXHIBITION IX – ILLUSIONS
Wow thank you so much for choosen me as the Featured artist. I really appreciate it…I am a artist and Designer, based in germany, Hamburg. 5 years ago I came trough the photography and retouching to the world of the Digital Art. since my earlierst childhood I’ve drawn in the traditional way…
Which artists you believe that have influenced your work the most?
As child I’ve got a book with the illustrations of Salvador Dali and since that day I love this surreal art a lot. So you can say he is the artist who influenced me the most time….
You have developed a very interesting style of your own. How much time do you usually spend on creating your works and how is your workflow ?
I really love to experiment with new and different techniques in both ways – digital and traditional. To improve my skills and find the best way to express myself. Therefore I spend a lot of time to learn and improve. I take so much time as I need to visualize my idea and the concept behind this. Normally there are 1-3days. For me the concept is the most important thing to create a new artwork. I love to show a theme in a completeley different way and to create not only an cool image, but an image which makes the viewer to thinking about he theme.
You have joined the group a few months ago, what influenced you in joining the group?
I’ve heard about cms long time ago. Have seen all the last exhibition and I really love the stuff of the exhibitions. So I though spontaneously I could apply. And I was really happy to be acceppted :)
Outside of your own work, what was your favorite contribution to the exhibition?
Oh this is easy to answer. Daniel’s (Vexatious) “Face Of The Rough Landscape” is just amazing. His style is realy impressive. And I’m very happy to see and work together with other great German artist.
Who is the most inspiring individual to you? What impact have they had on your art?
There are not really one individual that inspire me. There are a lot thing that I saw and happend everyday, which influence and make me thinking about it. My way to show and express my thoughts and my view or opinion to a topic is my art. It is my life.
Thank you for sharing so much about yourself in this interview! Do you have any last words for our readers?
